Which voodoo2 for you?   8:00 PM EST   - pent233

ZDNET has posted a pretty good article on the differences of the variety of voodoo2 cards you can get out there, here is the juicy part of the article:

All Voodoo2 cards offer similar performance: In our benchmark tests, we saw less than a 10% difference between the slowest card and the fastest. Essentially, you can't go wrong with any of the Voodoo2 boards on the market, which means that…

The key variable is the software bundle: In most cases, one Voodoo2 board is priced higher than another because of the software bundled with it. In order to get the best deal, you need to seriously consider whether you're actually interested in playing those bundled games. If you're not sure or you already have any of the games included in the package, keep looking.

A few cards have unique features: Although most Voodoo2 cards are merely clones of each other, a few have special features that might influence your decision. For example, the Canopus Pure3D II has a cooling fan, which may make it more reliable. The Quantum3D 2 combines the power of 2 Voodoo2 boards in a single slot. And a number of cards include control panel software that lets you overclock the board for maximum (if somewhat unstable) performance.

SiN Demo Released   8:26 AM EST   - pent233

The long awaited SiN Demo from Ritual Software is finally out.  This game uses a spiced up Quake II engine, but it feels more like Duke Nukem3D. Shots leave marks on the walls, enemies can be shot in certain areas which inflict different amounts of damage and the levels are like real world scenes. Check out a great review from OGR and download the demo here.
